R100 Over Toronto

18" x 24"
$200

The R100 airship was built by Vickers-Armstrong in 1929 as part of a government competition for the proposed Imperial Airship Scheme. Its rival, the R101, was constructed by the British Air Ministry. R100 completed a transatlantic crossing in 1930, visiting various cities in Canada such as Montreal and Toronto, before returning to England. However, the disastrous crash of the R101 put an end to the Imperial Airship Scheme, and the R100 was scrapped. This poster depicts the R100 over the Commerce Court Tower in Toronto.
