The LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin was a giant passenger-carrying rigid dirigible airship built by the Luftschiffbau Zeppelin company in 1926. In 1929, it became the first aircraft to circumnavigate the globe. LZ-127 flew over 1.6 million kilometres before being retired in 1937 in the wake of the Hindenberg disaster. It was scrapped and melted down in 1940. This poster depicts the Graf Zeppelin visiting New York following its 1928 trans-Atlantic flight.
